Lampshade Size Guide

Our lampshade sizes refer to the diameter across the bottom of the shade. If you’re replacing an existing shade, measure the diameter across the bottom of your current shade and choose the closest size below. If you don’t have a shade to measure, you can use these as a starting point:

20cm diameter × 18cm high
A small bedside or table lamp. As a ceiling shade, it suits a compact space such as a hallway.

25cm diameter × 21cm high
A bedside or smaller table lamp. As a ceiling shade, it suits a smaller bedroom.

30cm diameter × 21cm high
A medium table lamp. As a ceiling shade, it suits an average-sized bedroom or living space.

35cm diameter × 21cm high
A larger table lamp or smaller floor lamp. As a ceiling shade, it gives an average-sized room a fuller look.

40cm diameter × 25cm high
A floor lamp or a more noticeable ceiling shade in a larger room.

Remember to select Table/Standard Lamp or Ceiling Pendant under Fitting. For a ceiling shade, check that there will be enough clearance beneath it, especially over a walkway. If you’re unsure, email us a photo and a few measurements at info@harrisoncropper.com and we’ll be happy to help.

The fitting is approx. 3.5cm inside the shade on both lamp and ceiling fittings.

All our lampshades come with a small plastic convertor ring in the centre of the fitting so will fit both EU and UK fittings. Just clip this out if your lamp is the wider EU fitting.
