Dear Diary…
You’d be forgiven for thinking that writing in your diary is a thing teenager girls do, writing about their latest crush and their weekend plans. Yet research has shown that putting your thoughts down on paper has a huge benefits and help in the recovery of people suffering from mental health.
Because of this “journaling” has become immensely popular with people of all ages and the activity is being actively encouraged by many mental health professionals and charities. It is reported putting your thoughts on paper helps you to let go of any negative thoughts that may be weighing you down. Many credit journaling for helping them in times of struggle when they couldn’t find their voice.
Writing in a diary helps you to let out thoughts you don't have the strength or opportunity to say out loud.
With the current pandemic sadly causing an increase in those suffering with mental health, we at Harrison Cropper gifts and interiors, are encouraging our clients to try writing their thoughts down as a way to help with their struggles. If journaling isn’t exactly your thing then our diaries and notebooks can be used for a number of other things for example:-
- Keep a handy note of your appointments (in style might we add)
- Hinch lists – for the fans of cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch, you’ll know the importance of creating a daily cleaning list that you tick off with every completed goal.
- Shopping – the age old saying “never shop on an empty tummy” is true. You should always hit the food shops with a note of what you what to buy and stick to – and of nothing says you’ve got your life together more than making your notes in one of our beautiful diaries.
Why not give the one of our diaries as a gift to someone you care about. After all, sometimes a gift is far more than just that.
