Bronte by Moon have been creating luxury wool accessories since 1837 and are one of the last remaining vertical woollen mills in Great Britain. The original mill was three stories tall, as was common in the Victorian era. The process would begin on the top floor with dyed wools, working their way down each floor, hence the name ‘vertical’, until the finished product was despatched via the Leeds railway line. In the modern day, this process takes place on one floor due to a fire destroying the original mill. However, the term ‘vertical’ manufacturing remains the industry term to this day.

The company has a rich heritage with 175 years of in-house experience, along with a reputation for quality and design. Thanks to the ‘vertical’ process, Bronte by Moon needn’t rely on any other companies during the manufacturing process, everything can be completed to their own high standards, under one roof.
