Article: Buzzy Bees

Buzzy Bees

With the Earth in full bloom, boasting a vibrant sea of enchanting flowers basking in the summer rays, its many inhabitants have once again flocked to the great outdoors, including many varieties of the beautiful bee.

While some may be afraid of the bee and its sting, we believe the bumblebee is precious and enchanting. We love the soft buzzing sound of the bees make as they fly from flower to flower. For us, bees represent the start of summer, however the bee represents something much deeper to many cultures and communities.

The Worker bee has been a symbol of Manchester, Lancashire for over 150 years, representing the city’s hardworking community spirit. Following the tragic events of the Manchester Area bombing, the symbol of the worker bee was acknowledged worldwide as a symbol of unity, a reminder of how Manchester rallied together and supported the families’ effected by the bombings.

In the bible, bees are said to represent Jesus Christ himself. The bees’ honey is a symbol of Jesus’ sweet and gentle nature, whilst the sting pertains to justice and the cross. Bees are mentioned in the bible 4 times.

In the spiritual community, bees represent personal growth and power. It’s said that if you follow the bee it will take you to your true destination. For some, bees are believed to represent wealth, power and great success.

Let’s not forget the power of the honeybee, we rely on their pollination to produce many agricultural crops. It is estimated that bees pollinate 90% of the food we consume and are vital to our survival.
